The Scran & Scallie is Tom Kitchin's more casual venture — a neighbourhood gastropub that applies the same commitment to Scottish produce and seasonal cooking as The Kitchin but in a relaxed pub format. The menu covers proper pub food elevated by quality ingredients: scotch eggs made with Stornoway black pudding, pies with slow-cooked game, fish and chips with sustainably sourced haddock. The bar has Scottish ales and a well-chosen whisky list. The room has wooden floors and a pubby warmth that makes it a genuine local as well as a destination — Stockbridge residents actually drink here, which is the highest endorsement.
