The scant ruins of a Cistercian nunnery founded around 1150 by Duncan, Earl of Fife, on the southern edge of town. The priory operated a ferry across the Firth of Forth for pilgrims travelling between the southern road and the shrine of St Andrews in Fife — North Berwick was effectively a pilgrim transit hub for four centuries. The Reformation in 1560 ended the priory and the ferry both.
Only fragmentary walls remain in a grassy enclosure off Old Abbey Road. The site is freely accessible and signposted but easy to miss.
