A long sweep of pale sand and dunes a few kilometres west of North Berwick, facing directly across to Fidra Island and the Forth bridges in the distance. Yellowcraig is owned by East Lothian Council and is the area's best swimming and family beach — a backing of pine forest, a small car park, and a fenced grazed meadow.
The beach is rarely crowded even in summer; it is large enough to absorb visitors, and most of them stay close to the car park. Walk twenty minutes along the strand and you will have it almost to yourself.
