Constitution Hill

Headland above the town with panoramic views and the Camera Obscura

The headland at the northern end of Aberystwyth, reached either on foot along the clifftop path or by the Electric Cliff Railway. The views from the top across Cardigan Bay are outstanding — on a clear day the whole sweep of the bay is visible, from the Llŷn Peninsula in the north to the Pembrokeshire coast in the south. The Great Aberystwyth Camera Obscura at the summit projects a live 360-degree panorama of the town and surrounding coastline using Victorian lens technology. The clifftop walk north from the summit follows the Ceredigion Coast Path and offers solitude even when the town is busy.
