Aberystwyth rewards slow exploration. The town centre is compact and walkable, the Victorian seafront is one of the best in Wales, and there are several genuinely interesting museums and heritage attractions. The surrounding countryside adds a whole other dimension — the Rheidol Valley and the Pumlumon uplands are right on the doorstep.
