Llandudno Cable Car

The Llandudno Cable Car offers a more vertiginous route to the top of the Great Orme than the tramway — gondola-style cabins lift you from the Happy Valley gardens on the lower slopes to a point near the summit, with open views down over the town and bay. On a clear day, from the highest point of the cable car's route, you can see across to Snowdonia and the Menai Strait.

The cable car operates seasonally, roughly from Easter through October. It is the faster option for getting up the Great Orme, though it covers a shorter section of the headland than the tramway. The two options complement each other — you can take one up and the other down for a good circular route, adding a walk across the summit in between.
