Llandudno Town Hall

An Edwardian municipal building of 1902, the civic heart of Victorian Llandudno

Llandudno Town Hall is a substantial Edwardian municipal building completed in 1902, designed by the local firm of T. B. Silcock and S. S. Reay in a free interpretation of the English Baroque. It sits on Lloyd Street in the centre of the planned Victorian town, and houses the offices of Llandudno Town Council along with the public registry office.

The interior includes a particularly handsome council chamber with the original 1902 oak panelling and benches, accessible to the public during occasional civic open days. The exterior is best seen from the small civic square opposite, with the principal facade in pale stone facing roughly east. The clock tower, with its copper-clad lantern, is a useful landmark for navigating the town centre.

The town hall is not normally open to the public except for events and on heritage open days, but the exterior is worth a pause on the walk between the seafront and the railway station.
