Rideau Hall is the official residence of Canada's governor general and, by extension, one of the ceremonial homes of the Crown in Canada. The house and grounds are open to visitors, with tours that explain the building, the office, and the state rooms used for official occasions.
The grounds are a calm break from central Ottawa, with mature trees, lawns, and paths. Reserve ahead outside the main season, especially from September through April.
