Little Red River Park is Prince Albert's main outdoor playground, a large forested park on the north side of the city. Trails, picnic areas, river scenery, and open space make it useful in several seasons rather than just as a summer stop.
In winter the park shifts toward cross-country skiing, sledding, and snowshoeing; in warmer months it is better for walking, cycling, and family picnics. It is not wilderness, but it gives visitors a quick taste of the boreal edge without driving all the way into the national park.
