Rotary Trail and North Saskatchewan Riverfront

The Rotary Trail follows the north bank of the North Saskatchewan River through the city, connecting green spaces and viewpoints along one of the province's major waterways. The trail is paved for cycling and walking; in winter sections become cross-country ski tracks. The river valley here is wide and tree-lined, offering a surprising amount of natural scenery within the city limits.

The Heritage Conservation District downtown preserves some of Prince Albert's early commercial architecture from its fur-trade and early settlement era, visible along Central Avenue. The river trail connects the downtown core to the west-side parks in a route that takes about an hour at a comfortable walking pace.
