The Barrio de Murales is the street-art face of Xanenetla, a traditional neighbourhood just beyond Puebla's polished colonial core. Walls that would otherwise be easy to hurry past are covered with large murals: local legends, saints, trades, animals and surreal scenes painted into the ordinary fabric of the barrio.
It is most rewarding as a wander rather than a single point on the map. Go in daylight, keep to the streets with visible foot traffic, and pair it with the nearby forts or the old centre if you want to see how Puebla's formal architecture and everyday neighbourhood life sit beside each other.
