The cluster of small comedores inside and around Boaco's central market is the best place for an inexpensive lunch. Women running individual stalls serve the standard Nicaraguan set meal — soup, rice, beans, a portion of beef or chicken, and a drink — for prices that reflect the local economy rather than any tourist markup.
The market is busiest in the mornings and at lunchtime. By mid-afternoon most stalls have sold out or are winding down. Come early if you want the full selection.
