Casa Blanca

Casa Blanca is the oldest continuously occupied house in the Americas — built in 1521 for Juan Ponce de León, who died before he ever lived in it. His descendants held the house for over 250 years; it then passed to the Spanish military as the governor's residence, and is now a small museum.

The collection focuses on Taíno and colonial-era life: ceramics, weapons, religious art, period furniture. The real attraction is the architecture and the garden — a series of leafy walled courtyards stepping down toward the bay, with fountains and tiled benches. It is a quiet corner away from the cobblestones, and the entry is cheap.
