A long, narrow strip of pale sand running for nearly two kilometres along the north shore of the Vigie peninsula, Vigie Beach is the nearest serious swimming beach to central Castries. The sea is calm and clean, the sand is shallow for a long way out, and you can watch small planes from the adjacent George F. L. Charles Airport pass low overhead.
There are no big resorts here, just a handful of beach bars and casual spots renting chairs and selling rum punch. Weekends bring families from the city, weekdays are quiet. Easy by taxi from town, or walk in about thirty minutes.
