The national museum covers Trinidad and Tobago's natural history, fine art, and cultural heritage, with a good collection of Carnival costumes and steel pan instruments tracing the history of both. The fine art collection includes work by local painters. Admission is free, and the building itself — a colonial-era structure on Frederick Street — is worth a look.
