A 70-acre municipal park behind the Palm Desert City Hall complex, much more substantial than it sounds. There are lakes with resident waterfowl, lawns shaded by mature palms, a dog park, a skate park, sports fields, and a permanent rose garden. The Holocaust Memorial near the entrance, dedicated in 1995, is a sober group of bronze figures that catches most visitors off guard.
The park hosts the weekly Palm Desert Certified Farmers' Market on Wednesdays from October through May, and concerts on the lawn through the cooler months. Good place to picnic if you have leftovers from El Paseo.
