A combined hands-on science museum and small zoo aimed at kids under twelve, rebuilt in a striking new building in 2021. Exhibits run through California ecosystems with live animals (raccoons, bald eagles, snakes), interactive engineering and physics activities, and a popular bouncing-floor exhibit on the human body.
Free, though donations are encouraged. Best in the morning or late afternoon, when the zoo animals are most active. Easy combo with the adjoining Rinconada Park playground or a swim at the Rinconada Pool next door.
