The Kentucky Vietnam Veterans Memorial is one of Frankfort’s most thoughtful modern monuments. Its design uses a large sundial: the shadow falls across the names of Kentucky service members on the anniversary of their deaths, turning time itself into the memorial’s central gesture.
It is a solemn short stop rather than a long visit, but it is worth adding to a Frankfort circuit that already includes the capitol, cemetery, and historic houses. The design is simple, legible, and more moving than many larger memorials.
