Samuel Harrison House

The Samuel Harrison House honours an important Pittsfield minister, abolitionist, and chaplain of the famed 54th Massachusetts Infantry. It is a small historic house, but it opens a wider story about Black life, faith, and anti-slavery politics in the Berkshires.

Check access before going, as historic house hours can be limited. Even if you only see the exterior, it adds depth to a downtown walk that might otherwise focus on theatres and commercial blocks.
