The Taconic Crest Trail is a long ridge walk through the Taconic Mountains, beginning around Hancock and continuing north through Massachusetts, New York, and Vermont. Local sections make good half-day hikes, with forest, ridgeline views, and a quieter feel than the busier Berkshire sights.
