A surprising pocket of nature in the Las Vegas suburbs, Gilcrease Bird Sanctuary sits on a former ranch property and shelters a large collection of game birds, exotic species, and birds of prey. Many of the raptors are being rehabilitated through the Wild Wing Project before release back into the wild.
The sanctuary makes for a pleasant break from the neon and noise, especially if you are traveling with kids. Entry is free, though donations are welcome.
