The Lou Ruvo Center was designed by Frank Gehry and completed in 2010, and its crumpled stainless-steel facade is one of the most architecturally significant structures in Las Vegas outside a casino. The building houses a memory disorder clinic and research facility; the public-facing Life Activities Center next door is where events, galas, and community programming take place.
You cannot tour the clinical spaces, but the exterior and the Life Activities Center entrance are freely accessible and worth the short detour from the Arts District. The building sits at the northern edge of Symphony Park alongside the Smith Center and represents the civic ambition that the city has directed at the downtown corridor.
