Museo del Caribe

The flagship museum of Colombia's Caribbean region, housed in a striking modern building in the Parque Cultural del Caribe complex. Six permanent galleries explore Caribbean history, biodiversity, indigenous cultures, and the region's African and European heritage. A dedicated room traces the life and impact of Gabriel García Márquez, who grew up nearby in Aracataca and whose magical realism is so rooted in this coast. Allow two hours at minimum — the exhibits are substantial and the bilingual signage is good.
