Georgetown nightlife clusters along Sheriff Street and around a handful of bars in the central wards. Drinking is generous and rum is local, cheap, and excellent — El Dorado, distilled in Guyana, is one of the world's most respected rums. Stick to licensed taxis at night, particularly when leaving Sheriff Street.
