The Templo de la Luna is a carved rock sanctuary in the hills above Cusco, close enough to the city to reach on foot or horseback but far enough to feel outside the urban crush. Niches, channels, and worked stone surfaces suggest a ceremonial use tied to the wider sacred landscape around the Inca capital.
Come for the setting as much as the archaeology. The site is quieter than Sacsayhuamán and less formal than the ticketed ruins, with open grassland, views back toward Cusco, and a sense of how many sacred places once ringed the city.
