Numismatic Museum

The Central Bank's small museum traces money in Suriname from barter and colonial coin shortages to modern banknotes. Highlights include the 1679 parrot coin and playing-card money created when conventional currency was scarce.

It is a focused collection with limited weekday hours. Check with the bank before visiting, then combine it with the Waterkant and old civic buildings nearby.
