The Mai Jah Jah is a stepped public fountain on the southern edge of the city centre, built in the 1930s on a sloping site to serve as both an ornament and a small reservoir. Water cascades down a series of basins set in a public garden, with palms and benches around them.
In the evenings the surrounding park fills with families and young people. It is a pleasant, often-overlooked stop on a walk between Liberation Avenue and the southern neighbourhoods.
