A 52-room mansion built between 1930 and 1940 by Lord Maurice Egerton of Tatton, a reclusive British nobleman who never married and spent his last years here in self-imposed exile. The house sits in open countryside about 12 km west of Nakuru, near Njoro and the campus of Egerton University (which Egerton founded). It is now a museum, with most of the original rooms preserved — a strange, melancholy place that's worth the short trip out for the architecture and the story.
