Buchanan Airport

Buchanan Airport is a small airstrip on the northern edge of town, used mainly by humanitarian flights, occasional charter services and the iron-ore companies. Scheduled commercial service has been intermittent at best in the last decade, and most travellers reach the city by road from Monrovia.

The airport is not really a sight in itself, but it is worth knowing about for trip-planning. The longer-established Lamco Airport, also serving Buchanan, sits a little further south near the old mining-company compound.
