The only cylindrical minaret in Morocco rises above the medersa just downhill from the zaouia, an oddity in a country of square Almohad-style towers. The green tiles spiraling up its length make it easy to pick out from any viewpoint above town.
You cannot enter the medersa itself, but the lane that runs past its base climbs up into the Khiber quarter and is one of the prettier walks in the medina, passing whitewashed houses with bright-blue doors and the occasional cafe terrace.
