Moulay Idriss is small and the highlights are concentrated within a few minutes' walk of the central square. The town divides into two old quarters draped over neighbouring hilltops — Khiber to the north and Tasga to the south — with the green-tiled zaouia of the founder in the saddle between them. Most visitors come on a day trip from Meknes or Fez, but spending a night allows you to see the town empty out in the evening and listen to the muezzin echo across the hills at dawn.
