Nthandanyathi Hide

Quiet game and bird hide on the S28 grasslands between Lower Sabie and Crocodile Bridge.

Nthandanyathi Hide sits in the open eastern grasslands of Kruger, on the S28 route between Lower Sabie and Crocodile Bridge. It is less famous than Lake Panic, but its position overlooking water and grassland makes it a useful pause on one of the park's better wildlife roads.

Birders come for species such as storks, plovers, shrikes, and grassland birds, while general visitors use it as a chance to stop the engine and watch properly. As with all Kruger hides, the trick is not to rush: ten quiet minutes can reveal more than another ten kilometres of driving.
