The Tomb of Sun Quan marks the traditional burial place of the founder of Eastern Wu, one of the Three Kingdoms powers that made Nanjing an early imperial capital. Set near the Purple Mountain landscape, it is quieter than the monumental Ming Xiaoling tombs nearby but belongs to a much older layer of the city's history.
The site is best for travellers with an interest in early Chinese statecraft or the Three Kingdoms period. It does not overwhelm visually, so context matters: Sun Quan's court helped establish Nanjing's long role as a southern capital, and the tomb gives that story a physical point on the map.
