Banruo Temple is one of Changchun's most important Buddhist temples and the seat of the Jilin Province Buddhist Association. The compound is especially active around Chinese New Year, when worshippers come to pray and receive blessings.
Outside major festival periods it is a quieter stop in central Changchun, useful for seeing the city's living Buddhist practice alongside its better-known industrial and imperial-era sights.
