The Changchun Science and Technology Museum is a modern science museum with interactive exhibits aimed primarily at school groups and families, covering the standard science museum range: astronomy, physics, biology, and technology. The museum has benefited from investment in exhibits and the facilities are well-maintained.
The highlight is the planetarium, which runs regular shows and is one of the better public astronomy facilities in northeast China. The aerospace and geology sections reflect the regional industrial base — Changchun has significant optical and precision instrument industries that trace their origins to Japanese colonial-era technology transfer, and the museum acknowledges this industrial heritage.
