Five Avenues

The Five Avenues, or Wudadao, are Tianjin's best-known historic street district, laid out around streets named after cities in southwest China. The area preserves a large concentration of early 20th-century villas and foreign-concession architecture.

It is one of the city's best places for an unhurried walk. Look for the mix of British, Italian, French, German, and Spanish-influenced houses, then continue toward the former concessions and the Hai River waterfront.
