A set of rock-cut chambers below ground on Apostolou Pavlou Avenue, used as a synagogue in antiquity and converted into a Christian chapel in the early Middle Ages. The frescoes on the walls date to the 12th century and are heavily damaged, but enough remains to make out saints and inscriptions.
The catacomb is dedicated to a Jewish mother (Solomoni) who, with her seven sons, was martyred by the Seleucids — a story shared between Jewish and Christian tradition. Bring a torch; the lighting inside is minimal.
