A field of foundations, mosaic fragments and broken columns next to the harbour — what is left of one of the largest early Christian churches on Cyprus. Built in the 5th century and destroyed by Arab raids in the 7th, it was reduced further by an earthquake and never rebuilt.
The geometric floor mosaics, partially shaded by a modern roof, are the highlight. The dedication "Limeniotissa" — Our Lady of the Harbour — tells you exactly what the church did for the sailors who passed through ancient Nea Paphos.
