Gopal Mandir is a 19th-century Krishna temple in the heart of Ujjain's old city, close to the market lanes around Patni Bazaar. Its marble-faced shrine and silver-plated doors make it one of the more distinctive stops between the river ghats and the Mahakaleshwar temple area.
The temple is usually folded into a larger walk through central Ujjain rather than visited on its own. Come during aarti if you want atmosphere, but expect crowds and the usual press of flower sellers, pilgrims, and traffic in the surrounding streets.
