Gorewada Zoo, also promoted as Balasaheb Thackeray Gorewada International Zoological Park, is one of Nagpur’s major newer family attractions. It occupies a broad landscape near Gorewada Lake, giving it more room and a more safari-park feel than a compact city zoo.
The draw is partly the animal collection and partly the chance to get out toward Nagpur’s greener edge. It is best treated as a planned half-day rather than a quick central stop: distances inside and around the park are larger than they look on a city map.
