Khindsi Lake is a long-established day trip from Nagpur, set near Ramtek amid low hills and forested edges. The lake is used for boating and picnics, and its appeal is simple: open water, a break from the city, and a chance to combine a relaxed outing with the temples and hill views around Ramtek.
This is not a wilderness destination, and much of the visitor infrastructure is resort-oriented. It still clears the threshold as a practical Nagpur excursion because the lake is well known locally and gives travelers a straightforward half-day outside the city. Weekdays are calmer than holiday periods, when the boating area can feel crowded.
