Leisure Valley is the continuous strip of public parks Le Corbusier wove down the centre of Chandigarh — eight kilometres of greenery running through several sectors, dotted with themed gardens (Rose, Sculpture, Bougainvillea, Hibiscus). It is a remarkable piece of city planning: a long, walkable park ribbon that cuts across the grid without ever crossing a major road.
The northern end at the Rose Garden is the most polished section; the middle and southern reaches are quieter and used mostly by joggers and morning walkers. The Sculpture Garden, around Sector 10, has a small open-air collection of works by contemporary Indian sculptors.
