C-Scheme is Jaipur's most pleasant residential district — tree-lined streets, good restaurants and cafes, the Anokhi shop, and the Birla Mandir temple at its southern edge near Moti Dungri hill. It offers a more relaxed pace than the intensity of the old city, and is where most mid-range and upmarket travellers choose to stay.
The neighborhood has Jaipur's best concentration of independent restaurants, rooftop bars, and coffee shops — the kind of places that cater to both locals and visitors without the tourist markup of the old city hotels. The area is walkable in the evenings when the temperature drops.
Moti Dungri hill itself (with a private fort on top, not open to visitors) provides a landmark, and the Birla Mandir at its base is particularly beautiful when lit at night. A short drive or auto ride from the old walled city.
