Kanak Vrindavan is a terraced garden complex on the Amer Road, about halfway between central Jaipur and Amber Fort, built around a small Krishna temple in a gorge between two rocky ridges. The gardens were laid out in the 17th century and have a pleasant formal geometry — water channels, pavilions, and manicured lawns — set against the raw Aravalli hillside above.
The site is popular with local families and pilgrims rather than foreign tourists, which gives it a different atmosphere from the main monuments. On weekends it's busy with picnickers; on weekday mornings it's quiet and pleasant for a stroll. The Krishna temple in the center remains an active place of worship.
A good stop on the way to or from Amber Fort. Admission is nominal; the location on the Amer Road means it's easily combined with other sights in the northern part of the city.
