One of the largest Buddhist temple complexes in Southeast Asia, located in Sungai Panas. Known locally as the Laughing Buddha Temple after the giant grinning Maitreya statue inside, it draws Chinese-Indonesian and Singaporean pilgrims as well as curious day-trippers. The grounds include several halls, a vegetarian canteen and a quiet garden.
