Fushimi

Fushimi is the museum-and-office quarter that lies between Nagoya Station and Sakae. The Nagoya City Science Museum (with the world's largest planetarium dome), the Nagoya City Art Museum, and the Nagoya City Yamada Hyodo Memorial Hall all sit within Shirakawa Park, a green square that doubles as a venue for the city's outdoor jazz and beer festivals.

At lunchtime Fushimi fills with salarymen heading to its dense network of restaurants and standing bars; by evening it hands the crowd over to neighbouring Sakae and Nishiki. The Fushimi subway station sits at the intersection of the Higashiyama and Tsurumai lines, making it the easiest interchange in the centre.
