Abu Dhabi Plaza is a mixed-use skyscraper complex on the left bank, with the tallest of its towers reaching around 320 metres — the tallest building in Central Asia. The project was financed by the Mubadala investment fund of Abu Dhabi (hence the name) and combines offices, a hotel, residential apartments, and a small shopping mall in the lower floors.
For visitors the attraction is the observation deck and the rooftop bar near the top of the main tower, with the best high-altitude views of Astana. Tickets to the deck are paid and have specific opening hours; the bar is usually accessible without booking earlier in the evening. The contrast between Abu Dhabi Plaza's vertical scale and the horizontal sprawl of the rest of the city is worth seeing at sunset.
