Parliament Building

Government complex on Astana's monumental left-bank axis.

Astana's Parliament building is part of the planned left-bank government district, where ministries, monuments, and ceremonial avenues were arranged to project the image of a new capital. The building is mainly an exterior sight for travellers, but it helps make sense of the urban composition around Aqorda, Bayterek, and the surrounding official quarter.

Come for the cityscape rather than for access inside. Astana is at its most legible when you walk or drive this axis and see how the architecture stages state power in broad spaces, symmetrical views, and deliberately oversized forms.
