A small open pavilion containing a perpetual flame, set on the central canal between the Sacred Garden and the Monastic Zone. The flame was lit in 1986 during the International Year of Peace and has burned continuously since.
It is a brief stop on any tour through Lumbini — most visitors pause for a photograph rather than meditation. The view down the canal from here, with the south end of the Sacred Garden in the distance and the Monastic Zone temples on either side, is the standard postcard view of Lumbini.
