A small Japanese Buddhist temple on the Mahayana side of the Monastic Zone, run by the Nipponzan-Myohoji order which also built the World Peace Pagoda further north. The architecture is restrained — dark wood, minimal ornamentation — and the temple feels more like a meditation hall than a public shrine.
Visitors are welcome. Drumming and chanting services run morning and evening. The same order maintains a small information centre nearby explaining the peace movement and its links to Japanese Buddhist activism.
